{"id":52,"date":"2005-06-07T05:26:00","date_gmt":"2005-06-07T13:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=52"},"modified":"2005-12-02T03:24:25","modified_gmt":"2005-12-02T03:24:25","slug":"my-opnions-on-lawson-intentia-software-merger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=52","title":{"rendered":"My opnions on Lawson \/ Intentia software merger"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I got a message requesting my thoughts on the purchase of Intentia Software by Lawson.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>I have not commented on this previously, because Intentia does not offer anything in the HR space \u2013 they are a pure CRM, MRP, SCM play as far as I can tell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As you already know from <a href=\"http:\/\/hrtech.blogspot.com\/2005\/04\/lawson-systems-review.html\">previous posts<\/a>, I don\u2019t think Lawson is a great company.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>Their software is ok, but that\u2019s about it.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>That said \u2013 the Intentia purchase was another bad idea.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>Intentia cannot give Lawson much from the financial standpoint.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>They operate in different core geographic areas, Lawson didn\u2019t buy great new technology, they didn\u2019t buy a huge install base, they can\u2019t convert any of the Intentia clients over to the Lawson platform, and there are basically no operational synergies.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>It\u2019s a small player buying another small player and getting almost nothing out of it.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>Anyway \u2013 just another example of Lawson not executing well.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both; padding-bottom: 0.25em;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got a message requesting my thoughts on the purchase of Intentia Software by Lawson.
