{"id":595,"date":"2006-11-27T01:00:26","date_gmt":"2006-11-27T09:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=595"},"modified":"2006-11-27T01:00:26","modified_gmt":"2006-11-27T09:00:26","slug":"hro-%e2%80%93-defined","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=595","title":{"rendered":"HRO \u2013 Defined"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve debated HRO definitions here before.\u00a0 Is HRO any type of human resources outsourcing even if it\u2019s just payroll to ADP?\u00a0 Or does HRO mean full BPO for HR functions (HR BPO)?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It\u2019s quite arguable that you should define HRO as any type of outsourcing for any HR function.\u00a0 If you took this definition, there are literally tens of millions of HRO contracts sitting out there \u2013 mostly with payroll vendors like ADP and Ceridian or benefit vendors.\u00a0 But you would also say then that an organization outsourcing nothing but background checks is an HRO client.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There is another level of management that I think of with the HRO vendors like Hewitt, Accenture and Convergys.\u00a0 Above and beyond tasks, they provide end to end function management.\u00a0 Most of the time in their contracts, they are also providing some level of multi-function process management.\u00a0 So instead of just doing payroll gross-to-net, check printing and tax filing as in traditional payroll outsourcing, they\u2019ll also manage the process and provide end to end service, and they\u2019ll also do the HR and end to end benefits while they are at it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Traditional HR outsourcing simply means task and transactions.\u00a0 Today\u2019s HR BPO vendors are providing services under an umbrella called HRO, and I think the HR community is understanding that acronym (HRO) to mean HR BPO.\u00a0 When you hear me say HRO, I\u2019ll be referring to HR BPO.\u00a0 Otherwise I\u2019ll say \u201ctraditional outsourcing.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve debated HRO definitions here before.\u00a0 Is HRO any type of human resources outsourcing even if it\u2019s just payroll to ADP?\u00a0 Or does HRO mean full BPO for HR functions (HR BPO)?
