{"id":601,"date":"2006-12-11T01:00:03","date_gmt":"2006-12-11T09:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=601"},"modified":"2006-12-11T01:00:03","modified_gmt":"2006-12-11T09:00:03","slug":"adp-ranked-as-most-innovative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=601","title":{"rendered":"ADP Ranked As Most Innovative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">Actually, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adp.com\/\">ADP<\/a> was ranked 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 This however, is quite impressive considering they are an HR company and just a scant 5 years ago they barely knew what XML was.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">The 2006 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.informationweek.com\/iw500\/2006\/top250\/;jsessionid=PWLTD03YTZLHGQSNDLPCKHSCJUNN2JVN\">InformationWeek 500<\/a> list of most technologically innovative companies.\u00a0 \u201cUnique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in business technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.\u201d\u00a0 ((Retrieved from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.informationweek.com\/story\/showArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=DOH4XWBG10YACQSNDLPCKHSCJUNN2JVN?articleID=192700341\">InformationWeek.com<\/a> on <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">October 27, 2006<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">.))<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">What\u2019s interesting about this is that ADP is usually not thought of as a technology company on the leading edge.\u00a0 That\u2019s probably because they are not.\u00a0 They are however, a fairly conservative organization that waits for technologies to be proven before rolling them out to clients.\u00a0 What comes out or the organization are solid platforms, smart partnerships and acquisitions, and steady market growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">Let\u2019s think about this for a moment.\u00a0 We always think of ADP as the mainframe payroll engine that is very old school.\u00a0 But back when PeopleSoft was in its infancy, ADP had the foresight to buy their source code and re-brand it as CSS HRizon (we now know it as <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">Enterprise<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">).\u00a0 Just in the past year, their acquisitions of Virtual Edge and Employease just show how smart their decisions continue to be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">Then comes my comment about them being a bit more conservative.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be the first to say that it would have been nice for them to adopt real portal technologies earlier.\u00a0 They were a couple years late to the game there, and they are just now thinking about federated networks, but if you\u2019re happy outsourcing, your technology philosophy might just be to lag a year or two, so this might be ok for their client base.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">Kudos to ADP \u2013 brick and mortar old school turns technology innovator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\">In other HR related organizations:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acs.com\/\">ACS<\/a> at #77<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.convergys.com\/\">Convergys<\/a> at #81<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gevity.com\/\">Gevity<\/a> at #214<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paychex.com\/\">Paychex<\/a> at 242<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, ADP was ranked 2nd.\u00a0 This however, is quite impressive considering they are an HR company and just a scant 5 years ago they barely knew what XML was.
