{"id":822,"date":"2007-11-19T01:00:34","date_gmt":"2007-11-19T09:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=822"},"modified":"2007-11-19T01:00:57","modified_gmt":"2007-11-19T09:00:57","slug":"driving-innovation-by-creating-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=822","title":{"rendered":"Driving Innovation by Creating Culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This entire year I\u2019ve been talking about topics that most HR people don\u2019t talk about.\u00a0 Innovation and collaboration are often thought of as the domain of the business side.\u00a0 It\u2019s really the guys in production or R&amp;D to figure out how to innovate, or so we thing.\u00a0 We\u2019re dead wrong.\u00a0 I finally found a whitepaper that creates the linkages between what HR can do about innovation and producing the results for the business.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towersperrin.com\/tp\/service-offering.jsp?service=15484&#038;country=global\" target=\"_blank\">ISR\u2019s case study for innovation,<\/a> they outline a series of drivers for creating a culture that bolsters innovation:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/BlogContent\/Images\/ISR3.jpg\" align=\"absmiddle\" height=\"366\" width=\"577\" \/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>When examining results from its analyses, ISR concluded that four issues stand out as particularly important for this company to improve in order to support innovation more effectively \u2013 leadership, collaboration and teamwork, rewarding innovation, and bias for action. In the first analysis, ISR found that, of the cultural dimensions supporting innovation, these four issues were among those rated least favorably by company employees when compared with respondents in high-performing organizations.
