{"id":907,"date":"2008-06-11T01:00:37","date_gmt":"2008-06-11T09:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=907"},"modified":"2008-06-11T01:01:08","modified_gmt":"2008-06-11T09:01:08","slug":"will-the-real-oracle-fusion-middleware-please-stand-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systematichr.com\/?p=907","title":{"rendered":"Will the Real Oracle Fusion Middleware Please Stand Up?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s not mystery that Oracle\u2019s Fusion Middleware product was really only a half baked cobbling of old products when it was released a couple years ago.\u00a0 Much like Bush\u2019s \u201cMission Accomplished\u201d sign, Oracle proclaimed \u201cHalf Way to Fusion!\u201d\u00a0 We all waited expectantly for either a set of Fusion applications to be as half baked as the middleware, or we expected Oracle not to role anything out at all.<\/p>\n<p>At the simplest level, Oracle Fusion Middleware is just like any other SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) product.\u00a0 It seeks to enable better integration for data and process which should be brought forward to the user layer as better usability.\u00a0 (I don\u2019t think I can put it any simpler than that).<\/p>\n<p>However, Oracle\u2019s original Fusion Middlware was itself just a cobbled together set of rather loosely coupled applications.\u00a0 Loosley stated, if the SOA suite is not integrated, how is it going to integrate anything else?\u00a0 Now comes a new part of the Oracle Middleware suite called Oracle WebCenter.\u00a0 Perhaps this is what Oracle should have released when they declared the halfway point to Fusion.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/technology\/products\/webcenter\/pdf\/owcs_10132_business_wp.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Oracle WebCenter<\/a>, a new offering in Oracle\u2019s Fusion Middleware product line, is designed to help build more effective applications that take advantage of SOA to bring complete context to the information worker\u2019s daily tasks.
