2007 HR Technology Conference In Non-Review

systematicHR Avatar

I’m writing this one in response to Jason Corsello’s conference in review post.  Mine however, is a non-review since I was not there.  This kills me as I was registered, had a hotel room and everything, but was distracted at the last minute by an opportunity at billable hours.  Next year, I’ll be there for sure.

Go check out Jason’s real review, but here are some things he said that I thought interesting:

  • Talent management of course is still topic de jour for HR.  From a technology perspective, the consistent theme was “check out our new UI”.
  • Workday, Taleo and SuccessFactors were the most popular in terms of traffic.
  • Authoria won the recruitment and performance shootout.  Although their was no voting in the HCM Battle,  the overwhelming response was who lost – Oracle.  ((Corsello, Jason.  October 14, 2007.  “2007 HR Technology Conference In Review.”))

One of the great things coming out of the conference for me is that even though I didn’t have the opportunity to do the meet and greet with many of the vendors I was looking forward to talking to, I am having great success in setting up phone calls with them where I might get a bit more dedicated time than at the conference.  Fewer distractions and a whole hour means that I’ll be doing a lot of vendor reviews in the next couple of months, so look out for those.

If you are planning on being there next year, let me know.  We’ll do lunch.
